Self-help letter builder
A polite letter to your neighbor.
Most people do not know how to bring it up, and many neighbors do not know there is a problem. Answer a few questions and get a courteous, clear letter to print and deliver. Always start here.
Before you deliver it
- Sign it by hand. A signed note reads as neighborly. An unsigned one reads as a complaint.
- Keep a copy and write down the date and how you delivered it. If things do not improve, that record shows you tried the courteous route first.
- Give it two weeks. Start an incident log the same day, so you can tell whether anything changed.
- Do not mention lawyers, lawsuits, or the police in a first letter. It usually makes things worse.
If nothing changes. Bring your letter and your log to a case review. The next step is a formal letter from the firm.
This tool produces a general courtesy letter based on what you type. It is not legal advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
